Buddhist meditation lying down, sitting, and in movement

Clear the mind. the Heart.

For those who wish to awaken from the collective trance of separation.

Are you ready to explore your deepest depths without knowing what you might find?

Retreats that combine Buddhist wisdom with somatic practices to regulate the nervous system – where you can always practice lying down if you wish.

In my trauma-sensitive silent retreats, you are invited to arrive in your inner center through stillness and compassionate guidance. Deep Rest Meditation, embodied mindfulness, and body awareness create space for profound emotional transformation, inner calm, and spiritual practice that supports and sustains you in everyday life. All retreats integrate my experience with Somatic Experiencing and, in keeping with Buddhist tradition, operate on a Dana (donation) basis.

1. Inner Peace & Peace of Mind

In the protected space of silence, you begin to relax and listen inward. Many experience a tangible mental release. Your nervous system settles, and the mind grows quieter.

2. Self-Love, Gentleness & Self-Care

A mindful, compassionate approach to yourself becomes possible. Boundaries are perceived more clearly and lovingly respected. Self-care becomes a nourishing practice.

3. Mindfulness & Connection

Mindfulness is not only understood but truly embodied. Connection to your body, nature, and the present moment deepens. Compassion and heart presence are strengthened.

4. Emotional Clarity

In the field of mindfulness, old patterns, inner critics, and pain points arise — not to be analyzed, but seen, held, and transformed. Your capacity to work consciously with emotions grows.

5. Centering & Renewed Strength

You return to your center. Strength, joy, and trust in your own path are allowed to unfold.

6. Integration into Daily Life

Mindfulness, compassion, and inner clarity increasingly accompany you in everyday life. You carry new perspectives into relationships, work, and self-image, developing concrete steps toward a more conscious and fulfilling life.

A retreat is not just a withdrawal; it is the deepest turning toward what sustains you when everything else falls away.
Hi, I'm Nirmala,

Authorized Dharma and meditation teacher, and passionate yoga teacher for 23 years. Meditation saved me from the endless cycle of “spinning around myself” and has been an inseparable part of my life ever since. My first retreat, 26 years ago, was a profound awakening to the realization that we do not need to be anyone other than who we are. Since then, I have walked the path of awakening with trust, and I deeply wish for my work to contribute to a more compassionate and peaceful world.

Learn more about my spiritual journey

Since 1996, my extended stays in Asia have taken me from rigorous meditation retreats with long sitting periods (Goenka), alternating 16-hour sitting and walking sessions (U Sayadaw Mahasi), to a year-long silent retreat at Nilambe Meditation Centre, and Vipassana retreats in Bodhgaya. Deep Rest Meditation, taught by Jaya Ashmore and Gemma Polo, helped me release the “I must endure and be good enough” mindset and taught me loving acceptance of myself. In 2019, Christopher Titmuss, from whom I have learned for over 20 years, authorized me to teach Dharma and meditation retreats.

In 2021, my teacher Martin Aylward invited me to teach on the international Dharma platform Sangha Live, where you can find my talks, guided meditations, and Q&A sessions.

A silent retreat does more than change you – it touches, clears, nourishes, and opens. It combines stillness with insight, mindfulness with compassion — allowing you to experience your everyday life with greater depth and vitality.
