In today’s hectic world, more and more people are looking for ways to escape the stress of everyday life and find inner peace. Yoga, embodiment, retreats and especially silent retreats are powerful ways to relax the body and mind, get to know yourself better and find a deeper connection to your own spirituality. These practices, some of which are ancient, offer a variety of gifts that go far beyond physical health. In this text, we will explore the fundamentals of yoga, the different types of retreats, and the special significance of silent retreats and embodiment seminars.
Yoga is an ancient practice that originated in India and was developed thousands of years ago. It is much more than just physical movement; yoga also includes breathing exercises, meditation and a philosophy of life. The word “yoga” comes from Sanskrit and means “unity” or “connection,” which indicates that yoga enables body, mind and soul to be brought into harmony. It is also about connecting our small “self” with the greater. You can also look for yourself: What is your yoga? What connects you with yourself, with life, with the world?
Take a moment to perceive the following question with your whole organism …
The yoga practice offered in the Soulteachings courses and retreats is about finding your very own path into your yoga, into your connection with everything. What is good for you, where is your track, what feels juicy and alive?
There are many different types of yoga, including a wide variety of Hatha yoga styles such as Vinyasa, Ashtanga, Kundalini and Bikram. Each of these forms has its own techniques and focuses, here are a few:
The practice of yoga offers numerous benefits, including improved flexibility, strength, balance and mental clarity. It also helps to reduce stress and increase general well-being. You come into contact with yourself, with your light and shadow aspects and can get connection to a space that carries and holds everything.
The yoga practice I offer is a deep, compassionate journey through the body into life and cannot be assigned to any style. After more than 20 years of teaching yoga, my offer changes with every person who finds their way to me. If you would like more information, please have a look here …
A retreat is a conscious break from everyday life to focus on personal recovery, meditation and spiritual practices. Retreats can last for different lengths of time, from a weekend to several weeks, and are often held in remote locations that offer a peaceful and natural environment.
There are different types of retreats, including wellness retreats, spiritual retreats, yoga retreats and silent retreats.
Each retreat offers its own unique opportunities for self-development and inner healing.
Silent retreats, also known as “Silent Retreats”, are a special form of retreat in which participants immerse themselves in complete silence for a certain period of time – often several days to weeks. This practice has its roots in various spiritual traditions, including Buddhism and Vipassana meditation.
If you are thinking about participating in a yoga retreat or silent retreat, there are some considerations that can help you get the most out of your experience:
In psychology, the word embodiment is used to name the interaction between body and psyche. How you are doing psychologically is expressed in your body in the form of gestures, posture, facial expressions or posture. Likewise, physical states influence psychological states.
The embodiment seminars are about a deep cellular sensing of your body with your body, with your cells. By discovering and following your very own movement impulses from moment to moment, you come into contact with your inner primal pulse, which brings deep layers in our system to vibrate.
Embodiment is a deeply intuitive practice in which you are allowed to listen to your deepest depths. The embodiment seminars offer your being space to listen deeply inside and to come into contact with your very own being. We listen to our cellular intelligence while breath, voice and movement flow through you in your intrinsic way. With the embodiment practice we touch layers in our body that are not addressed by our usual, everyday movement patterns. By toning, we bring vibration into the depth of our cells. The toning, humming, buzzing that you can add (and never have to) flows and pulsates in your heart, in your lungs, in your pelvis and thus enables you to perceive deeper tissue layers. This creates a feeling of wholeness and “coming home in the body”, so-called body home, which in turn can bring further movement impulses with it.
The movements in embodiment are sometimes very subtle, fine and delicate. And we feel these fine dynamics, vibrations, flows, liveliness deep in our tissue.
Embodiment connects us with life in everything, with the first pulsating organisms that were only separated from seawater by a membrane. All life arises from pulsation. When we come into contact with our own inner pulse, we touch all life, which leads to a feeling of connection, trust and security.
When we are born, we consist of about 80% water. When we get older it is only 50 – 60%. In addition, there are many other liquids that vibrate with the embodiment practice, including blood, hemolymph, tissue fluid, cerebrospinal fluid, as well as secretions such as bile, gastric juice, sweat, tear fluid and urine. The body is a creative intelligent process that is connected to the entire organism. We experience the connection in embodiment, in deep body home. We feel our connection with the elements and recognize that we are not separated from the outside. An experience about and with our body.
Through the embodiment seminars, through living embodied being and body home, our relationship to gravity, space and life changes in a life-affirming way that includes everything: light and shadow, narrowness and width, expansion and contraction. Because life is pulsation. Embodiment leads us back to our own pulsation, to the inner flow that was once accessible to all of us. If we trust this stream of life, a feeling of vastness and oneness can arise, deep peace in the midst of life’s storms.
You are very welcome in all the seminars and retreats offered here, with and without previous experience!! Explicitly also if you have physical limitations.
